MC at the Gandhi Ashram
This is a completely gratuitous post, reeking of reflected glory. I know glory does not reek but nevertheless. Excuse the terribly mixed metaphor.
Just in case you thought I have not been to where President Donald Trump went today, namely the Gandhi Ashram in Ahmedabad, here is the unimpeachable proof. Unlike Trump, I went with Gandhi's great-grandson Tushar while shooting my documentary 'Gandhi's Song.' Also unlike the president I even sat in the very room where Gandhi sat, next to a replica of his desk and charkha.

Not that any of this means anything special at all but as the great Ghalib said, "हम को मालूम है जन्नत की हक़ीक़त लेकिन, दिल के ख़ुश रखने को 'ग़ालिब' ये ख़याल अच्छा है" (I am aware of the reality of heaven, But it is a charming thought to gladden one's heart.)
We are also aware of the reality of Gandhi's India these days but it is a charming thought to gladden one's heart.
